right onto Jewel Lake Road after
about 3.2 miles).

off to parking and access to Potter
Marsh Wildlife Viewing Boardwalk.
The wooden boardwalk winds
1,550 feet from the parking area
through the marsh and across watery
openings and sedges, perfect habitat
for a rich variety of birds
Mile 116.5: Potter Marsh, at the
southern end of the Anchorage
Coastal Wildlife Refuge, is an ideal
break from Anchorage for birders
and other wildlife viewers. From the
Seward Highway just before the left
turn into the Potter Marsh parking lot,
you are treated to a stunning view of
Turnagain Arm. A.
Mile 115: Potter Section House
Historic Site features a restored house
and outbuildings that were once
part of a railroad section camp that
maintained 10 miles of railroad track.
Chugach State Park Headquarters is
in the house. The railroad car is the
Kenai Visitor Center.
Mile 116: Potter Creek Viewpoint and
access to Turnagain Arm Trail
Mile 111: Turnoff to McHugh
Creek Picnic Area and wayside, not
recommended for RVs longer than 24 ft.
Mile 110.1: Beluga Point, double-
ended turnout and good photo stop.
Mile 106.9: Viewpoint,double-ended
turnout and good photo stop.
Mile 104: Indian Valley Mine National
Historic Site. Learn gold panning,
browse through an assay building
mini museum and visit a gift shop.

Mile 101.2: Bird Creek Campground
and day-use area, Chugach State
Park.
Mile 101: There are many viewpoints
along the highway, but Bird Creek is
a great stop for photography, fishing
and spotting marine wildlife.
