PELICAN KING SALMON DERBY

Come to Pelican the first weekend in June to try your luck at the King Salmon Derby. June is the best time to catch a fat, sweet King, especially along the coastal waters of nearby Yakobi Island. You can also fish in the beautiful, more protected waters of Lisianski Inlet, Lisianski Strait, and Stag Bay.

Entry tickets run $30 and put you in the running for great prizes from local businesses. Get one at Lisianski Inlet Café, and then get geared up to fish!

Weigh your catch at the Salmon Way Inn at the top of the harbor ramp, typcially from 4-7 pm on derby days. Prizes are awarded during the week after the derby, so be sure to stay a few days afterward to enjoy more Pelican fishing and sightseeing. (You have to be present or have a representative there to claim your prize for you.)
